2022 Training Opportunities

While training individuals in grassroots organizing is at the core of what we do, our mission has expanded to training local organizations and their members in the fundamentals of community organizing and civic engagement.

Given the successful Stockton Education and Outreach Pilot Project, and based on feedback from organizers who participated in the project this past summer/fall, TOLA has renewed its commitment to run the Stockton Education & Outreach Project in 2022. This training opportunity will begin in March 2022 and run through June 2022. In addition to being exposed to TOLA’s organizing curriculum, trainees will apply the skills they learn to a variety of activities. All of the civic engagement work, activities, and goals will be focused on communities where residents want a more equal voice in local decision-making. Local community activities will include:

  • Organizing education seminars to learn the basics of how residents can engage with their local school system
  • Developing local leaders to champion the importance of education
  • Engaging with community members about improving education in their local community

2022 is an election year, so TOLA fellows and graduates will be involved in many high profile campaigns in Northern and Southern California, where they will continue to develop and fine tune their organizing skills.
